About the Card Scheme

What is the Card Scheme?

The card scheme allows you to attend 10 dance classes that take place in the studio.
You can mix and match the dance classes you attend or attend one class for 10 weeks.
The card must be used within 3 months from the date of issue.
The card must be presented at the start of each class.

How do I join?

Come and try your first class for just £1!
Download a booking form from the DanceDigital website.
Contact DanceDigital to be sent a booking form in the post.
Booking forms will be available at the studio.

What does it cost?

£50 Introductory Offer when signing up between January and March 2011.
Only one introductory rate card per person.
£55 Normal price.

How do I pay?

Online by debit/credit card through our website (no booking fee)
In person by cash or cheque only at the DanceDigital Office (2 Bond Street, CM1 1GH)
In person by cash or cheque only at your first class at the studio
NB: DanceDigital office and the Create Studio are at different addresses.

How does it work?

Return your completed booking form and payment to DanceDigital.
DanceDigital will give you a card which must be presented at the start of each class.
You can attend any 10 classes from the studio programme within 3-months of date of issue.

What if my card is lost or stolen?

Please keep your card safe. DanceDigital will not be able to issue replacement cards. If your card is lost or stolen, you must pay for a new card.

About the Classes

What classes can I choose from?

Zumba, Contemporary Dance, Bollywood/ Bhangra, Ballet, Egyptian Belly Dance, Commercial Street, Urban Fusion, Pilate, Tai Chi and Contact Improvisation Jam.
The timetable and teachers are subject to change.
A timetable is available at the studio, online and can be posted out to you.

When do the classes take place?

All our classes take place on weekday evenings and weekends. You can download a copy of the studio brochure from our website. This lists a full timetable for the studio.

What level are the classes?

All classes are open to all abilities except Contemporary and the Contact Improv. Jam, where previous dance experience is required. If there is a dance style you are interested in that is not listed in the timetable, call us.

What age range are the classes?

All our classes are for adults aged 18+. We have a mixture of ages taking part in our dance classes. Everyone is welcome, if you’re not sure, call us.

Can I try out a class before I sign up for a Studio Card?

Yes. Your first class is free.
You can also attend our Dip into Dance Open Week between 17 and 23 January 201, where you can attend as many or as few classes as you like for a £1 per class.

What should I wear?

Most classes will be taught in bare feet or socks.
Commercial Street and Urban Fusion you can wear trainers.
What you wear will depend on which class you attend.  Wear loose fitted clothes that you can move around in easily. Gym wear or loose jogging bottoms and a t-shirt are ideal.

Where is Create Dance Studio?

Unit 8, Eckersley Road Ind Est., CM1 1SL, very close to Chelmsford town centre.  Opposite Riverside Ice & Leisure and sandwiched between Riverside Retail park and Royal Mail sorting office.

What is Create Dance Studio?

Create Dance Studio opened in June 2009 as a place for professional choreographers to create new work. During the day the studio is an incubation space for new and emerging artists specialising in Dance and digital technologies. In the evenings and weekends the studio is transformed into a community hub for adults to enjoy social dance and fitness classes.

Who are DanceDigital?

DanceDigital is a regional Dance Development Agency with a national focus on Dance and Technology based in Chelmsford in the East of England.  We are passionate about providing facilities for dance in the community as well as creating new dance works.
